Wednesday

Bill is still in critical condition but he remains stable. He is now able to swallow and they are giving him some water to drink. They continue to monitor his blood pressure which is much too high right now. He is talking a bit but due to the large amount of medication he has been on, he is a bit confused at times. They tell me he will become more alert as the medication leaves his system and he continues to rest. His fever is down but his white blood cells indicate there is still an infection somewhere in his body and he still has a chest tube. He still has at least 3 surgeries - his left fibula, his ligaments on his right ankle and the skin graph on his right lower arm.
