a little bit of good news

Bill has been opening his eyes quite a bit. He even answered 2 questions, Can you hear me? he nodded yes and Are you in pain? he shook his head no then fell back to sleep.
They are planning what I hope is his last surgery, tomorrow at 830am. This will be to work on his right upper arm which is in 3 pieces. He still has a fever (101.8) but it has been going up and down all night so they aren't too worried.
They do feel that his lungs are doing better and even though his is still on the respirator and receiving oxygen, he is now breathing on his own. If this continues they may remove it tomorrow after surgery.
The last thing the nurse said to me was, "He is making progress and moving in the right direction".

Is wonderful to know that Billy is making a strong recovery. Marion and Kate Dowell check on his progress each day. Thank-you for making this site and keeping us informed about a loved one. Billy is in our thoughts and prayers.

We are in Natalie and Bill's ward in Monroe WA. We are praying for Billy's full recovery, and our prayers go out to all his family members as well. Having been in an accident like this ourselves, we know of the agonizingly slow progress that recovery can be. God speed. Roger and Kathy Chatterton
