Christmas Eve morning update....

They just took Bill into surgery for his right upper arm and a 3rd cleaning out of his right lower arm. From an orthopedic standpoint this should be his last major surgery. When his right lower arm was injured it broke through the skin so they are doing a skin graph on Monday to speed up the recovery. He has a chest tube in his right lung and he is still on a breathing machine. Yesterday he was able to breathe on his own for 2 hours at a time. They will allow/encourage him to do this until his lungs are strong enough to be removed from the respirator. He does have an infection in his lungs so they are treating it with a new antibiotic. Bill has continued to move/shift/wiggle both of his legs and both of his hands which is a great sign. They are dramatically reducing the sedation so he can wake up and stay awake. He opens his eyes often but still is not able to focus or follow people around the room. He has however continued to answer by nodding or shaking his head to simple yes/no questions.

I am so grateful to Bill's Mother Natalie and all the nurses/doctors that are taking care of him right now. I am also very grateful for the love and comfort of my Heavenly Father. I know that he is watching over and helping us all especially Bill. Thank you to all my wonderful family and friends for the love, prayers and support.
