I forgot to mention a few things from yesterday, Billy had a visitor first thing this morning, one of his physical therapists(Jeff) from the previous hospital to see how he is doing. This was a very nice visit for him and he was happy to see that even though he has moved hospitals, there are those who still want to check on his progress. Billy has definitely made an impression on many people and there are so many people that think of him and wish him well.
Next, Billy being able to have a great view of the lake yesterday, thanks to his brother, Rodney. He moved the bed, so that Billy could look out his room window and see the lake and the mountains. He really has a beautiful view from his hospital room, from the lake to the mountains and right outside his window, is where the helipad is for the life flight team. Billy also got xrays, for a checkup of the progression of his bones healing.
Far as physical therapy today, he walked 200 feet and then did some work down in the physical therapy gym, both before and after the walk in the hall. He was able to get the arm brace for the walker removed today. This will help him use his right arm more and more and it will also help strengthen it. Even though Billy already has good balance, this is the next step to him just using one crutch to help him get around. He also worked with moving a ball around with his right hand, with his hand on top and moving it in a circular motion in front of him. This will help his arm improve motion and strength.
The xrays came back with great results, as the bones seem to be healing just great.
Thanks to all who have helped Billy and sent him Thank you letters/cards/notes. All is much appreciated.
